Validity & Renewal
A registered trademark is valid for 10 years from the date of application. It can be renewed indefinitely for subsequent periods of 10 years each.
- Renewal Window: Can be filed 6 months before expiry.
- Late Renewal: Allowed within 6 months after expiry with a surcharge.
- Restoration: Possible up to 1 year after expiry with additional fees.
Use it or Lose it
If a registered trademark is not used for a continuous period of 5 years, it can be removed from the register on grounds of non-use.
